SOUL Performance Exhaust System with Dual Wall Tips for 987.2 Porsche Boxster / Cayman

The SOUL Performance Products Race Exhaust System for the Porsche 987.2 Cayman and Boxster is purpose-built for aggressive track use, prioritizing durability, weight reduction, and performance over sound attenuation. Designed and fabricated in-house at SOUL’s Willow Grove, PA facility, it drops approximately 19lb versus the factory exhaust components while maintaining robust construction for repeated track days.Developed through extensive R&D with feedback from experienced shops and drivers, the system uses over-axle pipe profiles designed to maintain clearance around axles and sway bar end links on heavily modified or lowered cars, and it features SOUL’s bespoke mounting approach to reduce the chance of bracket failures under racing conditions. The forward piping connects to a dedicated transmission mounting brace via heavy-duty Mikalor band clamps, and added support with rubber vibration dampeners helps reduce stress from flex and vibration across the system.  Constructed from mandrel-bent .065-inch wall, 2.5-inch diameter T304L stainless steel tubing with laser-cut, formed, TIG-welded brackets and back-purged welds for longevity, this racing setup is intentionally very loud; even with resonators, drone will be present, and SOUL does not recommend running it on the street with aftermarket headers. Configured here for a Manual transmission with Straight Cut Signature Satin tips, each system is fixture-tested for fitment, foam packed, and includes new high-grade hardware and installation instructions. Backed by SOUL’s Lifetime Warranty for street and track use.

Development

• SOUL Performance’s goal was to create lightweight, robust, cost-effective exhaust components for Boxster and Cayman platforms that are readily available, perform exceptionally well, and are built to last. Through extensive R&D discussions and feedback from shops, technicians, and drivers with years of independent testing experience, with special thanks to Bryan Schute at Speed Sport Tuning and the team at LN Engineering / BRS – SOUL developed a clear direction for a truly track-bred system.

Construction

• SOUL Performance’s over-axle pipe profiles use a full 2.25 inch diameter and are engineered to maintain sufficient clearance around the axles and sway bar end links on heavily modified or lowered vehicles.Because hangers and brackets welded directly to an exhaust can fail under racing conditions, SOUL developed a bespoke mounting solution that sheds over 5 lb compared to the factory mounts while remaining easy to repair or replace after a track incident. The forward piping connects to a dedicated SOUL transmission mounting brace using heavy-duty Mikalor band clamps, and additional support is added to the over-axle piping through rubber vibration dampeners to help reduce stress from flex and vibration across the entire exhaust system.

Sound

• This SOUL Performance racing system is designed first and foremost for track use and maximum performance rather than sound attenuation. It is extremely loud, and drone will be present even with resonators. SOUL does not recommend running this exhaust with aftermarket headers on the street. Under full throttle, however, the sound is exceptional. For a more refined street-focused experience, SOUL recommends the Valved Exhaust System.
