The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming starts with a cast wheel mounted on a heated mandrel while hydraulic rollers apply precisely controlled pressure to shape the barrel. As the barrel is expanded to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compacted and refined, resulting in a lighter, stronger barrel with performance that closely approaches a fully forged wheel.
