The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming begins with a cast wheel secured on a heated mandrel, where hydraulic rollers apply tightly controlled pressure to the barrel. As the barrel is expanded to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compressed and refined, resulting in a lighter, stronger barrel with performance approaching that of a fully forged wheel.
