The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming starts with a cast wheel locked onto a heated mandrel while hydraulic rollers travel along the barrel, applying carefully controlled pressure. As the barrel is gradually stretched to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compacted and refined, yielding a lighter, stronger barrel with performance that comes very close to a fully forged wheel.
