The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming begins with a cast wheel secured on a heated mandrel while hydraulic rollers apply tightly controlled pressure along the barrel. As the barrel is slowly stretched to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compacted and refined, creating a lighter, stronger barrel with performance that comes very close to that of a fully forged wheel.
