The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming starts by mounting a cast wheel onto a heated, rotating drum, where hydraulic rollers apply uniform pressure along the barrel. As the barrel is expanded to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is compacted and reoriented, greatly increasing its strength and durability.
