The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming begins by mounting a cast wheel onto a heated mandrel, where hydraulic rollers apply accurately controlled pressure along the barrel. As the material is stretched to its final width, the aluminum’s grain structure is tightened and refined, resulting in a lighter, stronger barrel with performance that nearly matches a fully forged wheel.
