The Flow Forming Process

• Flow forming starts by securing a cast wheel onto a heated, rotating drum, where hydraulic rollers apply force to the barrel. As the barrel is slowly stretched and shaped to its final width, the process compresses and aligns the aluminum’s grain structure. This method produces a wheel barrel that is significantly lighter and stronger, offering performance qualities similar to a fully forged wheel.
