How much power does the Competition Package for W463 G63 add?

VF Engineering quotes 650 hp and 720 lb-ft for its Competition Package for W463 Mercedes-AMG G63 models, gains of 73 hp and 93 lb-ft over the factory 577 hp and 627 lb-ft. Boost, ignition and fueling are revised on the factory turbochargers.

What is the difference between the two options?

Software Only supplies the Competition calibration alone for $2,095. Software + Stainless Steel Exhaust adds a VF exhaust system in 321 stainless steel, developed with Redstar USA, for $4,695. VF Engineering publishes one set of figures for the package and designs the exhaust for track use.

Does the calibration affect off road ability?

The calibration changes engine management only, and VF Engineering lists no change to the locking differentials, low range or any other part of the G63 drivetrain. Off road ability is set by that factory hardware, which stays exactly as Mercedes-AMG delivered it.

How is the Competition Package installed?

VF Engineering supplies the software as an end user programmable file, loaded by the owner through the OBDII port, and the factory calibration can be restored at any time. Ask Bulletproof Automotive about fitting the exhaust when choosing the Software + Stainless Steel Exhaust option.

How does it compare with the Performance ECU Software?

VF rates its Performance ECU Software for the G63 at 640 hp and 700 lb-ft for $1,895. The Competition Package is quoted 10 hp and 20 lb-ft higher, and adds the stainless exhaust option VF Engineering designs for track use.

Description

VF Engineering Competition Package for W463 Mercedes-AMG G63

VF Engineering’s Competition Package for W463 Mercedes-AMG G63 is VF’s strongest file for the current G-Class, whose 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 is assembled by one technician in Affalterbach and rated at 577 hp and 627 lb-ft. VF publishes 650 hp and 720 lb-ft for the package, gains of 73 hp and 93 lb-ft, and 10 hp and 20 lb-ft beyond its Performance software. In a tall, heavy vehicle the torque gain is what shortens every overtake. The package can be ordered as software alone or with a VF stainless steel exhaust developed with Redstar USA, which VF designs for track use, an unusual brief for a G63 that suits the owner who wants the loudest, strongest version VF offers.

About VF Engineering

VF Engineering designs supercharger and turbocharger systems, titanium exhausts and ECU and TCU calibrations from a 15,000 sq ft facility in Anaheim, Orange County, California, where it has been based for nearly two decades. Every calibration is developed in house on the company’s own Mustang AWD 500 chassis dyno, ECU boards are handled in a dedicated clean room, and new parts start in an R&D room equipped with a rapid prototyper. VF reports that more than 93 percent of its supercharger systems are still running after years of hard use, many on their second or third owner, and its engineers carry the testing discipline of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series into every road calibration.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
