EXEDY’s twin and triple Multi-Plate clutches are engineered for high-powered applications, catering to high power street action, drag racing, road racing, and rally racing. The twin plate clutches can handle approximately 500ft/lbs of torque, while the triple plates manage around 800ft/lbs of torque, measured at the flywheel. Twin clutches are available with either spring damper discs or solid discs, depending on the application, whereas triple clutches are exclusively solid discs and not recommended for street use. Every EXEDY Hyper Multi-Plate clutch includes a lightweight chromoly steel flywheel and a distinctive purple anodized forged aluminum clutch cover. The range features both strap drive and lug drive models based on the application, all utilizing T5001 cerametallic friction materials for exceptional heat resistance. Despite their enhanced power capacity, these multi-plate clutches often exhibit light pedal pressure due to a patented clutch “cushion” function that provides a half-engaged “zone.”

EXEDY Lightweight Flywheel

• EXEDY Lightweight Flywheels are crafted to offer low weight, low inertia, and high thermal capacity, making them ideal for light to moderately tuned racing cars used in drag racing, autocross, rally events, and street driving. These flywheels are manufactured from solid one-piece billet chromoly steel or chromoly steel forgings, specifically designed to reduce weight and inertia for enhanced engine response. Many of these flywheels feature unique design elements that improve airflow, thereby enhancing clutch cooling.
• The ring gear teeth on EXEDY flywheels are integrated directly onto the flywheel, unlike aluminum flywheels where the ring gear is pressed on and may separate due to differing expansion rates of aluminum and steel. New lightweight, solid replacements are now available for vehicles originally equipped with OE dual mass flywheels. EXEDY lightweight flywheels have been rigorously tested to withstand 15,000-18,000rpm, guaranteed not to fail within this range, and are all SFI approved.
