Are the Fabspeed Sport Cats street legal?

The Fabspeed Sport Cats are genuine high-flow HJS Sport Cats that keep emissions scrubbing, so they are not an off-road delete part. However, they are not CARB approved and are not for sale in California. Elsewhere, emissions rules vary, so confirm your local laws before ordering.

Will they cause a check engine light?

No. Because they are genuine 200-cell HJS Sport Cats rather than a straight pipe, they still scrub emissions, so Fabspeed guarantees no check engine light on a healthy engine, and no tune is required. That is the advantage of a true Sport Cat over an off-road pipe.

How much power do they add?

They add 22 HP and 19 ft-lb across the rev range on the 2.0L turbo, with more available from an ECU tune. The gains come from opening up the restrictive factory equipment: the HJS 200-cell Sport Cats flow far more freely than the dense 700-cell factory primary section, which also frees a more aggressive sound.

Which Macan do they fit?

They fit the 2019-2021 Porsche 95B.2 Macan with the 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, in versions that are not equipped with a gasoline particulate filter (GPF). Fabspeed designed them for both left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive vehicles. The V6 Macan models use different Sport Cats.

Are the HJS Sport Cats genuine, and how much power can they support?

Yes. Fabspeed uses genuine HJS German 200-cell trimetallic Sport Cats, fitting the largest that will go in the factory location, rated to support over 1200 HP. Each set is hand TIG-welded in T304 stainless steel, so it suits both bolt-on and heavily modified builds.

Is it a bolt-on installation?

Yes. The Sport Cats are a direct bolt-on that install in the factory position, so no cutting or welding is needed, and no tune is required to run them. Fabspeed includes instructions, and the set is backed by the Fabspeed Lifetime Warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Porsche Macan models do the Fabspeed Sport Cats fit? The Fabspeed Sport Cats fit the 2019-2021 Porsche Macan 95B.2 with the 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, in models not equipped with a gasoline particulate filter. They are a direct bolt-on fit using the factory mounting points and hardware, so no cutting, welding, or fabrication is required for installation.
How much power do these Sport Cats add? On the Macan’s 2.0L turbo engine, the HJS 200 CPSI cores free up exhaust flow and cut backpressure, worth roughly 22 horsepower and 19 lb-ft of torque across the rev range. The gains come with no tune required, and the freer flow also gives the Macan a deeper, more assertive exhaust note.
Do the Sport Cats require an ECU tune? No. The Fabspeed Sport Cats are engineered to work with the Macan’s factory ECU calibration, so no tune is required, and Fabspeed guarantees the installation will not trigger a check engine light. They are a straightforward upgrade that preserves the vehicle’s stock drivability while adding measurable performance.
What are the Fabspeed Sport Cats made from? They are hand-built from T304 stainless steel and TIG-welded in-house at Fabspeed’s Pennsylvania facility. The catalyst cores are German-made HJS 200 CPSI tri-metallic units chosen for high flow and long service life. Every set is backed by Fabspeed’s lifetime warranty, so the hardware is built to last the life of the vehicle.
How much more do these flow than the Factory Equipment? The oversized HJS cores flow up to 90 to 93 percent of a straight pipe while retaining full catalytic function. In comparison to the Factory Equipment, that is a large increase in flow capacity, rated to support well beyond 1,200 horsepower, which is why the Macan gains both power and a richer exhaust tone.
Are the Fabspeed Sport Cats street legal in California? No. These Sport Cats are not CARB certified, so they are not legal for street use in California or other states that follow CARB emissions standards, and buyers there should confirm local regulations before purchasing. In all other regions they install without a tune and without triggering a check engine light.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
