Touring Edition Exhaust
The Touring Edition Exhaust balances sophistication and aggression in a 3” T304L stainless steel downpipe-back configuration, delivering straight-pipe performance with a deep, refined exhaust note and zero highway drone. It features an integrated frontpipe, bespoke midpipe resonator, and AWE’s patented 180 Technology® drone-canceling solution, producing a full-bodied, rasp-free K20 soundtrack that stands apart from the competition. Under boost and heavy throttle, it roars; at highway speeds, the cabin remains drone-free, offering the best of both worlds. Engineered specifically for the FL5 Civic Type R, it’s backed by AWE’s No CEL and Perfect Fitment Guarantees. As exhaust gases exit the K20 engine and enter the 180 Technology-equipped resonator, they pass through carefully positioned ports into reflection chambers, where sound waves bounce off the walls. By precisely controlling port size, chamber dimensions, and exit timing, the reflected waves rejoin the main exhaust flow 180 degrees out of phase, canceling problematic frequencies, all within a straight-through design. The result: full performance with none of the drone.
What is 180 Technology?
AWE’s 180 Technology® works by directing exhaust gases into a resonator fitted with strategically positioned ports that lead into reflection chambers. Within these chambers, sound waves bounce off the walls, and AWE’s acoustic engineers carefully adjust the size and placement of the ports and chambers to match each vehicle’s specific sound profile. By controlling these key factors, the timing of the waves exiting the chambers is precisely managed. When the reflected waves rejoin the main exhaust flow, they are 180 degrees out of phase, canceling unwanted frequencies. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all solution, AWE engineers design each 180 Technology® resonator to the unique acoustics of each vehicle, ensuring consistent and precise sound. The result is the elimination of undesirable tones across all AWE 180 Technology®-equipped systems, producing a signature sound that delivers both performance and refined tonal quality in every application.
Front Pipes
Both the Touring and Track Edition Exhausts include a full 3” front pipe, engineered with a unique flange and gasket to ensure a consistent diameter from inlet to outlet. This front pipe integrates seamlessly into the overall exhaust design. It’s important to note that AWE exhausts are specifically designed for their own systems and are not compatible with front pipes from other aftermarket brands.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well.
For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario.
