By utilizing their typical formula that includes F1 grade Inconel 625, tuned cross sections, and impeccable X pipe geometry, they successfully crafted an exhaust that satisfies the trifecta of sound perfection, lightweight construction, durability, and peak performance.

The Sound

• The process starts at the manifolds, where the standard cats are replaced with their 100 cell or 200 cell manifolds, amplifying the sound substantially. The gases then travel through one of two channels. With the valve closed, the gases are directed through their harmonically tuned and internally ceramic-insulated wing silencers, which eliminate unwanted drone during highway cruising, into the center muffler, and finally through their signature 1D CLR x pipe. This setup ensures that the car remains highly civilized when desired. When the valve is open, the wing and center silencers are entirely bypassed, enabling the gases to flow freely through the exhaust system. The Kline 1D CLR X pipe’s geometry significantly elevates the exhaust pitch into a fierce, yet harmonious, explosive roar, without causing any hindrance to the gas flow. The Inconel 625 material also adds a unique sound, further amplifying the Kline system’s natural sound characteristics. Its thin sidewall resonates to produce an even higher-pitched scream at high revs.

Performance

• The most substantial performance increase is achieved by replacing the catalysts in the standard headers. The Kline headers and full system are designed to complement each other for optimal performance and sound. The Kline system and headers come in two options: 100 cpsi catalysts which deliver a maximum gain of 18 hp and 27nm.

Stainless Steel

• While the 304-grade stainless steel is frequently used in the exhaust manufacturing industry due to its strength, thermal stability, affordability, and fabricability, its weight and limited tensile strength can pose challenges when used in high-performance exhaust components. The need for thicker walls with stainless steel may also negatively affect the exhaust sound.

Inconel

• Renowned for its robustness and heat resistance, Inconel 625 is often used in constructing critical components, such as high-performance jet engine exhaust turbine blades. It is the preferred material for Formula One exhaust systems and notable hypercar projects like the McLaren P1 and Aston Martin 177. However, Inconel presents unique challenges due to its intricate machinability and specialized welding requirements, even though it can withstand temperatures over 1000°C and focuses on lightweight design.

Carbon Fiber

• Known for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, carbon fiber-reinforced polymer is in high demand in industries like automotive and aerospace. Its integration can lead to weight reduction and increased stiffness, enhancing the overall performance of the vehicle.
