The AWE Tuning 4.0T Touring Edition Exhaust with diamond black tips for the C7 and C7.5 Audi S6 is designed to refine the twin-turbo V8’s factory sound while minimizing cabin drone. It features a non-resonated downpipe-back layout, a custom midpipe resonator, and AWE’s 180 Technology®, which cancels unwanted frequencies to produce a smooth, full-bodied exhaust note that remains controlled at cruising speeds but opens up under load. The diamond black tips provide a subtle visual upgrade that complements the S6’s rear design, while the system mounts to factory points with precision and retains all emissions components. Touring Edition Exhaust

• The Touring Edition Exhaust is a 3” T304L stainless steel downpipe-back system that combines strong performance with a refined sound profile. It features an integrated frontpipe, a custom midpipe resonator, and AWE’s patented 180 Technology® to cancel unwanted frequencies, producing a full, clean exhaust note that stays quiet at cruising speeds yet opens up under boost and heavy throttle. Exhaust gases are directed through precisely positioned ports and reflection chambers in the resonator, generating 180-degree out-of-phase waves to minimize drone. The straight-through design improves flow and power while maintaining a crisp, controlled, and drone-free tone, supported by AWE’s No CEL and Perfect Fitment guarantees.

What is 180 Technology?

• AWE Tuning’s patented 180 Technology directs exhaust gases through a resonator with strategically placed ports leading into reflection chambers. As sound waves travel through, they bounce off the chamber walls, and the size and positioning of the ports and chambers are engineered to match the specific acoustic profile of each vehicle. By precisely timing when the reflected waves rejoin the main exhaust flow, a 180-degree out-of-phase wave is created, canceling targeted frequencies. Rather than using a universal design, each resonator is tuned for its vehicle, producing consistent, balanced sound that reduces unwanted tones while maintaining a full, natural exhaust note and preserving performance.

Exhaust Tips

• Each system includes three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips available in chrome silver or diamond black, each featuring a stamped AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, allowing you to position them within the bumper to your liking.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During development, AWE carefully studied the factory exhaust valve across different driving conditions and found that overall volume remains largely consistent between modes that activate it. The valve stays closed only in Comfort mode until a specific throttle point is reached, while in Sport and Sport+ it remains open, with Sport+ adding ECU-controlled burbles. On the stock system, exhaust flows through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to minimize cabin noise and drone, and is routed through the center path once the valve opens.

Conversion Kits

• AWE designed the system for easy conversion between Track and Touring Editions, allowing interior sound levels to be adjusted whenever desired.
