AWE Tuning Track Edition Exhaust – Chrome Silver Tips (90mm) for B8.5 Audi S5

The AWE Tuning Track Edition Exhaust for the B8.5 Audi S5 uses a straight-through, non-valved design that removes rear muffling to reduce restriction and bring out a more direct exhaust note from the supercharged 3.0T V6. With fewer components to quiet the flow, the system produces a higher volume level with a sharper, more immediate response under throttle, along with more noticeable overrun and gear change character. Because it doesn’t rely on valves, the sound remains consistent regardless of driving mode, giving the car a more mechanical feel across the rev range. Constructed from mandrel-bent stainless steel, it maintains steady flow and durability, and it installs using factory mounting points. The 90mm chrome silver tips offer a clean, traditional finish that suits the S5’s rear design without deviating from its original look.

Track Edition Exhaust

• For those who prefer a raw, aggressive sound, the Track Edition delivers. It retains the same integrated front pipe, custom midpipe resonator, and precise engineering as the Touring Edition, but without AWE’s 180 Technology® drone-canceling system. At the rear, the 180 Technology® resonator is replaced with a straight section, producing a significantly louder, more aggressive tone during mid-range acceleration and deceleration. Intense enough that it may overwhelm some drivers. Consider yourself warned.

What is 180 Technology?

• AWE Tuning’s patented 180 Technology works by directing exhaust gases into a resonator fitted with precisely positioned ports and reflection chambers. As the sound waves travel with the exhaust, they bounce off the chamber walls. AWE’s acoustic engineers carefully tune the size and placement of the ports and chambers for each vehicle, controlling exactly when the reflected waves rejoin the main exhaust flow. When timed correctly, these waves return 180 degrees out of phase, canceling unwanted frequencies.

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system includes three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, offered in Chrome Silver or Diamond Black, each stamped with the AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, allowing you to set their depth in the bumper to your preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During development, AWE thoroughly analyzed the factory exhaust valve across various driving conditions and found no significant change in volume between modes that engage the valve. The valve stays closed only in Comfort mode and opens once a certain throttle threshold is reached. In Sport and Sport+ modes, it remains open, with Sport+ adding ECU-controlled burbles. On the stock system, exhaust is routed through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to reduce cabin volume and minimize drone, and through the center when the valve opens.

Conversion Kits

• AWE designed the system for easy switching between Track and Touring Editions, so interior sound levels can be adjusted whenever desired.
