Track Edition Exhaust

• For drivers seeking a louder, more unrestrained exhaust character, the Track Edition delivers. It shares the integrated frontpipe, custom midpipe resonator, and precise engineering of the Touring Edition but omits AWE’s 180 Technology® drone-canceling system. The rear section replaces the 180 resonator with a straight-through Track Edition piece, producing a pronounced, energetic tone that stands out during mid-range acceleration and deceleratio, definitely not subtle, and not for the timid.

What is 180 Technology?

• AWE Tuning’s 180 Technology works by channeling exhaust gases into a resonator fitted with carefully positioned ports and reflection chambers. As the sound waves pass through, they bounce and interact within these chambers, and AWE’s engineers calibrate the port sizes and placements for each vehicle’s specific acoustic profile. This precise tuning causes the reflected waves to rejoin the main exhaust flow out of phase, effectively canceling unwanted frequencies. Unlike generic solutions, each 180 Technology resonator is tailored to the individual car, ensuring consistent, refined sound across all applications. The outcome is a clean, balanced exhaust note that removes harsh or annoying tones while preserving the performance and character of the system.

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system includes three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, available in Chrome Silver or Diamond Black, each etched with the AWE logo. The tips can be individually positioned, allowing you to adjust how far they protrude from the bumper to suit your preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During development, AWE carefully studied how the factory exhaust valve behaves under various driving conditions. They observed that the valve only significantly affects volume in Comfort mode, remaining closed until a specific throttle threshold is reached. In Sport and Sport+ modes, the valve stays open, with Sport+ adding ECU-managed burble effects. In the stock configuration, exhaust gases are routed through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to limit cabin sound and reduce drone-prone frequencies, while opening the valve directs flow through the center section.
