What is 180 Technology?

• Sound waves carried by the exhaust gases reflect off the walls inside the resonator’s chambers. AWE’s acoustic engineers tune the size and placement of each port and chamber to the specific requirements of the vehicle, and that tuning controls exactly when the reflected waves exit. The timing of when those waves re-enter the main exhaust flow is what matters; they come back 180 degrees out of phase, which cancels out the problem frequencies at the source.
