• The Touring Edition Exhaust is the ideal combination of sophistication and aggression. It includes a dual 3” T304L stainless steel downpipe-back configuration, for enhanced performance similar to a straight-pipe system, but with a refined exhaust note and no resonance at higher speeds.
• The Touring Edition of this exhaust features a stunningly designed stamped stainless steel merge that is comparable to dual 3” tubing, offering an incredible 65% increase in overall flow over the stock exhaust. After it is merged, the exhaust then splits into dual 3” piping that optimizes airflow along the entire exhaust route. Lastly, this edition is equipped with AWE’s revolutionary 180 Technology® which eliminates irritating drone tones for a pure and concentrated B58 sound.
• AWE180 Technology® produces a flawless sound.
• As exhaust gases from a B58 engine pass through the ports of an AWE180 Technology® equipped resonator and into the reflection chambers, the sound waves carried by these exhaust gases are reflected off the walls of the chambers. With the size and position of the ports and chambers being regulated, the exact moment that the sound waves rejoin the primary exhaust flow can be decided. This results in the formation of a 180-degree out-of-phase sound wave which eliminates any problematic frequencies.

180 Technology

• AWE’s 180 Technology(r) eliminates troublesome frequencies from car exhaust systems, resulting in improved performance with the added benefit of an AWE signature note. This patented product provides an optimal balance of power and sound.

By controlling the size and location of the intakes and chambers, engineers can manipulate the moment when these sound waves are released back out into the exhaust flow, resulting in a 180-degree out-of-phase sound wave that eliminates disruptive frequencies.

Equipping a downpipe? Read this (seriously)

• For cars with the stock downpipe, AWE believes the non-resonated variant of their Touring Edition Exhaust is best. If your BMW has been retrofitted with an aftermarket downpipe, they suggest the resonated version.
• If you currently have a stock downpipe but intend to switch to an aftermarket one later, don’t worry; you can easily transition to the resonated mid-sections with the assistance of an AWE Resonator Conversion Kit.
