The Flow Forming Process

• A wheel produced through casting is secured onto the flow forming drum and undergoes a heating process. Hydraulic rollers apply pressure to the wheel’s circumference, expanding its diameter. The material of the wheel is manipulated through stretching and compression to achieve the desired width. This stretching process enhances the grain structure of the aluminum in the barrel, resulting in a stronger and lighter wheel, similar to the characteristics observed in forged wheels.
