Development

• Taking a fresh approach to the 993 Carrera, SOUL examined how they could design superior exhaust components. They opted for a large diameter of 2.5″ piping, which maximizes power gains over the stock system, making it particularly suitable for engine builds with increased displacement. In their OBD1 variants, they implemented a centrally located single O2 bung to ensure the most precise readings from all cylinders. This choice guarantees consistent and optimal performance, as opposed to a compromised system that accommodates both OBD1 and OBD2, where one bung would be plugged and one offset O2 sensor would primarily monitor a single bank of cylinders.

Construction

• Every exhaust system is meticulously crafted using robust T304L stainless steel with a substantial wall thickness of 2.5″ and .065″ diameter. The assembly process is conducted in-house with rigorous quality checks at every stage. The utilization of smooth mandrel bends and sturdy flanges guarantees the longevity of the product. To ensure impeccable fitment, each component undergoes thorough testing in a fixture. Additionally, the exhaust systems are carefully foam packed, providing optimal protection during transportation and ensuring their arrival in flawless condition.

HJS Catalysts

• SOUL employs the utmost quality catalytic converters, renowned for their exceptional flow and durability within the industry. These converters exhibit remarkable efficiency, enabling compliance with stringent EURO 3 emission standards while simultaneously facilitating increased flow. Moreover, the risk of triggering a check engine light is significantly reduced. The HJS HF design, employed by SOUL, incorporates premium double foil winding, thereby ensuring outstanding strength and durability.

Power

• Through independent dyno testing and averaging the results of three runs, it was determined that the peak gains achieved were 8whp and 8ft-lbs of torque. Furthermore, significant power gains of over 15whp can be experienced in the upper midrange, greatly enhancing the overall enjoyment of street driving. It should be noted that these gains can be further amplified with the addition of an ECU tune.

Additionally, new hardware required for the x-pipe to header flange connection is thoughtfully provided with the product.
