Blue Anodized Finish

When aluminum is left exposed to open air, it develops a layer of oxide that safeguards it from damage. This is akin to rusting, but the oxide layer produced by anodizing is much sturdier. This makes it suitable for usage in extreme environments like racing, since it is much tougher than either a paint or powder coat. The anodizing process makes for a hard–wearing finish that is able to withstand tough conditions.

“E-Slit” Double Shaving Effect

The E–Slit Rotor features a unique design with its signature long, curving cut along the face, as well as its iconic ‘E‘ symbol in the center. Furthermore, an additional layer of shading gives the rotor a slight braking effect. Moreover, the long cut reinforces the clinging action generated from the ‘E‘ symbol which helps maintain a secure grip when the pads are attached. Eventually, at the point where the slot is worn away and only the ‘E‘ remains, it is time to replace the rotor with a new one.
Even with frequent use, the brake rotor can be subject to corrosion and rust as a result of age and regular wear and tear. As such, it is suggested to replace the worn rotor with a fresh one at least every two years.

E-Slit Rotors

The E–Slit rotor has been designed with an elongated curved cut along with four micro E–Slits, which serve to reduce the thickness of the brake pad. The curved shape as well as friction from the E–Slits help to keep the brake pad in the best condition possible. With the help of a specific carbon composite material, this rotor was created with a new invention of Endless which increases the rigidity, prevents heat fractures, and unlocks the peak performance of the brake pad. These E–Slits have been tailored to guarantee the most accurate thinning of the pad.

Special Heat Treatment Process

Racing BIG4 Rear System

A 4POT caliper kit crafted for circuit racing offers superior braking performance due to its larger size compared to a regular rear caliper. When combined with a 12POT front caliper, a balanced front–rear braking system is formed, resulting in secure and dependable braking from all four wheels.
The frame of the caliper body is built with forged aluminum, which is a combination of strength and lightness. Furthermore, it has great thermal resistance that allows it to endure the rigors of racing and winding roads, even when used regularly.

Bedding

To ensure that circuit–devoted pads are able to withstand high temperatures and perform optimally, it is critical to go through a “bedding“ process. This involves preheating the pads before use to make them robust enough to handle intensive use and maximize their efficiency.
Competitors at the highest levels of motorsport, like SUPER GT, WRC, and some European circuits, are usually provided with top–notch bedding.
It is essential to carry out a precise bedding–in process prior to installing semi–metallic brake pads so that the optimal temperature is reached and the durability of both the rotors and pads is maximized.
How to Bed:
- It is essential to raise the temperature of the rotor slowly, to a temperature between 400–500° C, during an installation that involves a unique product. Abrupt changes in temperature should be avoided. When the product has been fitted, the temperature should be reduced to under 100° C, to indicate that the process is finished.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
