Blue Anodized Finish

• When aluminum is exposed to oxygen in the atmosphere, a protective layer of oxidation is formed, preventing it from further damage. This works in a similar fashion to rust. Anodizing augments this chemical reaction and produces a much more resilient exterior coating of aluminum oxide. For racing purposes, anodizing is favored to either painting or powder coating as it is much more resilient. The anodizing process provides a durable finish which can withstand wear and tear.

“E-Slit” Double Shaving Effect

• The E–Slit Rotor is an unparalleled rotor, boasting unique features that make it stand out from the crowd. It features a long cut across the surface, culminating in a curved edge with an ‘E‘ emblazoned in the center. Furthermore, an additional layer of shading produces a mild braking effect. The long slot also produces an added force, which is complemented by the ‘E‘ to ensure efficient brake pad retention. When the slot fades away leaving only the ‘E‘ symbol, it is a sign that the rotor needs to be replaced.
• Even if the brake rotor is employed frequently, its longevity can be adversely impacted as a result of corrosion and rusting brought on by time and consistent usage. For that reason, it is advisable to replace the worn rotor with a new one at least every two years.

E-Slit Rotors

Special Heat Treatment Process

• If the rotor is employed extensively and for a prolonged duration, it can be susceptible to wear as a result of thermal exposure, thereby creating small fractures (heat cracks). To protect against this, portions of the rotor undergo a unique heat–treating procedure. This procedure reinforces the components and minimizes the likelihood of heat cracks appearing with heavy use. Thanks to the heat treatment, the rotor has an extended life and allows the user to make use of it over an extended period without fear of heat cracks.

Bedding

• It is necessary to perform a “bedding“ process in order to take full advantage of circuit–devoted pads designed to withstand extreme temperatures. This involves preheating the pads before utilization, so that they are well–equipped to deal with strenuous use and maximize their performance.
• Competitors in the higher echelons of motorsports, including SUPER GT, WRC, and certain European circuits, will invariably find themselves outfitted with top–notch bedding.
• Prior to putting in semi–metallic brake pads, it is imperative to implement an accurate bedding–in procedure so that the optimum temperature is attained and the life of the rotors and pads is maximized.
• How to Bed:
  • When employing a course that has a novel product set up, it is essential to incrementally raise the rotor temperature to between 400–500° C, being careful to avoid abrupt acceleration or deceleration. Subsequent to the installation of the product, let the temperature drop to 100° C or below; this will show that the procedure has been completed.
