What does PDK Flashing for 991.1 Turbo models change?

It loads COBB transmission maps that raise minimum shift points, firm up shifts, reduce low RPM clutch slip and add Race Start Lite in Normal and Sport. The Aggressive maps lift the automatic upshift limit to a maximum of 7400 RPM.

How is this different from AP3-POR-006?

Both cover the 2014 to 2016 911 Turbo and Turbo S and flash COBB engine maps. This version adds PDK Flashing for 991.1 cars: transmission maps, a PDK clutch relearn routine and combined PDK and ECU logging. Owners happy with factory shifting can choose the engine-only unit.

Does Race Start Lite work without Sport Chrono?

Yes. COBB states that Race Start Lite adds Race Start to Normal and Sport on all cars, including those built without Sport Chrono. In the COBB Sport, Aggressive and High Torque Aggressive maps it is set at 4500 RPM, while Sport Plus keeps the factory 5500 RPM.

When should I use the High Torque Aggressive map?

COBB says it is typically used on cars making 50% or more engine torque over stock, where higher clutch pressure helps reduce slip after a shift. Once it has been flashed, a PDK relearn must be completed before changing maps or uninstalling.

Is this Accessport legal in California?

Yes. COBB lists CARB Executive Order numbers D-660-70 and D-660-91 for this handheld. Those numbers permit sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states, California included, provided it is used in accordance with the COBB application guide.

Description

COBB Tuning Accessport V3 with PDK Flashing for 991.1 Porsche 911 Turbo / Turbo S

COBB Tuning’s PDK Flashing for 991.1 Turbo and Turbo S models adds transmission calibration to the Accessport V3, so one handheld carries both the engine maps and the gearbox maps, under CARB Executive Orders D-660-70 and D-660-91. The gearbox side is the reason to choose it: higher minimum shift points, firmer shifts and a launch mode in Normal and Sport, even without Sport Chrono. Owners content with factory shifting can buy the engine-only AP3-POR-006.

PDK Calibration

PDK Flashing for 991.1 Turbo models offers three COBB transmission maps alongside Simulated Stock. COBB Sport raises minimum shift points, firms shifts, cuts continuous clutch slip between roughly 1000 and 2500 RPM and sets Race Start Lite at 4500 RPM in Normal and Sport. On the Turbo it also lifts the automatic upshift limit to the Turbo S factory shift point. COBB Aggressive raises that limit on both models to a maximum of 7400 RPM, and COBB High Torque Aggressive adds higher maximum clutch pressure, meant for engines making 50% or more torque over stock.

Features

Flashes both the engine ECU and the PDK transmission control unit
PDK clutch relearn for engagement, clutch torque and touch points
Simultaneous logging of PDK and ECU data monitors
Full color screen showing up to six live parameters
Room for up to 100 calibrations
In-cabin mount with on/off switch and interchangeable faceplates
Performance timer, custom RPM shift light and one-step uninstall

Applications

Porsche 911 Turbo: 991.1 | 2014-2016 | PDK
Porsche 911 Turbo S: 991.1 | 2014-2016 | PDK

Notes

50-state legal with CARB EO D-660-70 and D-660-91
This version tunes the engine and the PDK; the engine-only handheld is AP3-POR-006
After running COBB High Torque Aggressive, a PDK relearn must be completed before switching to COBB Sport, COBB Aggressive or Simulated Stock, or before uninstalling. Skipping it may cause poor shifting or TCU errors.
Installing this Accessport over anything other than factory or COBB software may result in ECU or TCU failure

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
