Since the launch of the CIVIC TYPE R FK8, SPOON have focused on the high-dimensional potential of the K20C turbo engine and proceeded with ECU analysis and setting with HONDATA Flash Pro with the goal of further improving engine performance.

By optimizing the ECU such as boost, ignition timing, and fuel adjustment, the output was improved by about 40ps compared to the normal while ensuring a sufficient safety margin. The torque in the medium and low speed range and the output in the high speed range were further improved. In order to make it happen, SPOON started to develop a large-capacity turbocharger.

The turbocharger developed this time uses a state-of-the-art, high-efficiency MHI turbo that supplies the OEM FK8 turbochargers. The shape of the compressor and turbine blades has been optimized by the latest CFD analysis technology, and the diameter has been increased to achieve high output without sacrificing medium- and low-speed torque. Also, since the housing has the same shape as the genuine one, it is completely bolt-on without any processing.

The compressor wheel has optimized the wing shape and the number of blades, and by expanding from the OEM unit 58mm to 65mm, realizing a much higher flow rate and boost.

They have also optimized the blade shape and number of turbine wheels, enlarging the OEM 47mm to 52mm, and succeeded in reducing exhaust pressure and improving response by increasing the capacity while suppressing the moment of inertia.

By installing SPOON N1 muffler, SPOON air cleaner, [Hondata] Fuel System Upgrade, intercooler, catalyst straight and setting the current car, it is possible to increase the output by about 100ps and torque by 15Kgm.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US.
