Fabspeed’s Race Exhaust System for 997.1 Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS is where most owners of these cars end up once they have worked out that the centre and the rear of the exhaust want solving together. What does the Race Exhaust System include? It is a two-piece cat-back package: the Center Mini Maxflo mufflers and the Side Muffler Bypass Pipes, with tips in your chosen finish. That pairing is what produces the 39 lb saving and the figure of over twenty wheel horsepower, both larger than either system delivers alone. Everything upstream of the cat-back connection stays factory.
Can I still drive the car every day with this fitted? Yes. Fabspeed built this package to raise aggression and volume without giving up drivability, because it keeps genuine mufflers in the centre of the car while opening the rear. It is appreciably louder than stock and meant to be, but it is not the straight-pipe experience of the Competition Race X-Pipe.
Is it cheaper than buying the two systems separately? Yes. The package is priced below the sum of the Center Mini Maxflo Exhaust and the Side Muffler Bypass Pipes bought individually, and it arrives as one order with one installation. Owners who already own one of the two should buy the other on its own rather than the package.
Where does the 39 lb saving actually come from? Five pounds from the centre section and thirty-four from the side mufflers behind the rear axle. The second figure is the one that changes how the car feels, because mass at the extreme rear overhang is where the 911 layout is least forgiving. Most owners describe a difference in turn-in before they mention the sound.
Will it fit a 997.2 GT3? No. This is assembled from components built for the 3.6L 997.1 cars from 2006 to 2009. Fabspeed builds an equivalent package from the 997.2’s own parts for the 3.8L cars. The two generations look alike and are frequently confused, so confirm the chassis code and engine size before ordering.
Which tips are included? Deluxe tips are included in Polished Stainless, Carbon Fiber or Satin Black, selected at checkout, so no separate tip purchase is needed. The finish choice is cosmetic and changes neither the sound nor the performance of the system.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
