The Huracan Performante, a track-focused variant featuring a 5.2-liter V10 engine producing 631 horsepower, embodies Lamborghini’s tradition of uncompromising supercars. At Kline, the decision was made to design and develop the ultimate Huracan Performante exhaust system. Crafted from ultra-lightweight Inconel 625, the primary design goals were unmatched sound performance and lightness.

The Sound

• Recognizing that the factory Huracan exhaust fell short of capturing the raw nature of the supercar, Kline set out to create an exhaust system that truly stands out. The fundamental objective was to deliver a screaming sound at high revs while maintaining near-stock quietness during cruising speeds.
• To achieve this, the exhaust was meticulously designed with two chambered silencers for valve closure, effectively eliminating any bass drone. When the valves open, the exhaust transitions into a completely free-flow state, passing through our trademark tight radius X-pipe. The resulting exhaust note on valve open is undeniably incendiary, as the X-pipe elevates the pitch into a raucously aggressive vocal, often described by customers as a “demon screaming.”
• The exhaust system can be further enhanced with beautifully crafted Formula One-Grade Pre-Preg Carbon Fiber Tails, adding a special quality to its overall aesthetic.

Performance

• By removing restrictions from the silencer section and implementing a fully free-flow system for valve open operation, the Kline Lamborghini Huracan Performante exhaust achieves optimal efficiency and delivers moderate power and torque gains.

Stainless Steel

• In the realm of exhaust manufacturing, the industry has traditionally relied on the established standard of 304-grade stainless steel. This grade offers a balanced combination of moderate strength, thermochemical stability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of production. It enables the construction of exhaust systems that strike a practical balance between affordability, functionality, and long-lasting durability. However, it’s important to note that stainless steel, although similar in density to regular steel, is relatively heavier compared to alternative materials. Additionally, it possesses slightly lower tensile strength, which imposes limitations when aiming to create high-performance exhaust components capable of producing vibrant and captivating exhaust notes.

Inconel

• When durability and heat resistance are paramount, Inconel 625 emerges as the ultimate choice, widely employed in the aerospace industry. This exceptional material finds extensive application in the manufacturing of critical components, particularly exhaust turbine blades for high-performance jet engines. Inconel is highly favored in Formula One exhaust systems and has been selected by manufacturers involved in prestigious hypercar projects such as the McLaren P1 and Aston Martin 177. The advantages of Inconel lie in its high tensile strength and excellent thermochemical stability. Comparable to titanium in terms of tensile strength, Inconel achieves an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio, allowing the utilization of thin sidewall materials while maintaining structural integrity. This facilitates the production of lightweight components that exhibit exceptional resistance to fatigue over extended periods. However, working with Inconel presents challenges due to its difficult machinability and specific welding requirements, demanding specialized skills and time-consuming techniques. Additionally, the unique properties and specialized manufacturing processes associated with Inconel contribute to its higher cost as a raw material.

Carbon Fiber

• Kline exclusively utilizes aerospace and Formula 1-grade pre-preg carbon fiber, which is cured in an autoclave under high pressure and temperature. This carbon fiber reinforced polymer exhibits an extraordinarily high tensile strength-to-weight ratio, surpassing that of all metals. By harnessing this material, Kline produces carbon fiber components that are exceptionally lightweight and remarkably strong, capable of withstanding the most extreme conditions.
