The “12 Piston Caliper” is a groundbreaking caliper, being the world’s first 2-piece caliper with 12 pistons. It is based on the 3-piston, 1-pad design of the ultra-compact 6-pot calipers, and uses four specially designed brake pads. Blue Anodized Finish

  • When aluminum becomes exposed to the oxygen in the atmosphere, it forms an outer film which prevents it from corroding any further. This is known as oxidation, which has a similar effect to that of rust. The anodizing technique capitalizes on this chemical reaction, taking it a step further and creating an extremely hard exterior layer that is made of aluminum oxide. This finish is ideal for racing purposes since it is much more durable than either paint or powder coating. Anodizing provides a consistent coating that is resistant to wear and tear.

“E-Slit” Double Shaving Effect

  • The two features of the E-Slit Rotor that make it so noteworthy are the long slit which produces a tender curved edge and the letter ‘E’ which is placed above the long slit. The double layer of shading effects from the long slit, which modify the shape of the pad and promote a light braking effect, and the stronger braking power from the ‘E’ Slit combine to keep the pad in prime condition. When the long slit on the rotor’s surface dissipates and the letter ‘E’ becomes visible, it is an indication that the rotor should be replaced.
  • Even when you’re using the brake rotor, it may become damaged due to corrosion and rust brought on by aging, so it’s best to swap out the old rotor for a new one at least once every two years.

About Bedding

  • In order to get the most out of circuit-dedicated pads that focus heavily on high-temperature features, a process known as ‘bedding’ must take place. This involves preheating the pads before putting them through rigorous use, to help them reach their full potential.
  • Competitors in the highest tiers of motorsports, such as SUPER GT, WRC, and some European events, invariably have top-tier bedding.
  • Prior to utilizing semi-metallic brake pads, a correct bedding process has to be carried out to keep up high temperature operation and lengthen the life of the pads and rotors.

How to Bed

  • When driving on a course with a new product installed, be sure to raise the rotor temperature up to 400 – 500° C, avoiding hard braking. Add atari, and once the temperature has cooled back down to 100° C or lower on its own, the process has been completed.

E-Slit Rotors

The E-Slit rotor integrates a slender curved slit with four smaller E-Slits. Shaving of the pad facilitated by the lengthy curved slit, in tandem with the raised friction exerted by the E-Slits, maintains an optimal condition of the brake pad at all times. This rotor is composed of a unique carbon amalgam, an Endless novel technology, increasing mu-levels of stability, inhibiting heat cracks, and ultimately drawing out the full potential of the brake pad. Its slits are devised with maximal shaving in mind.

Special Heat Treatment Process

  • Excessive and prolonged vigorous usage of the rotor can cause the surface to expand and contract from heat, creating small cracks (heat cracks). To prevent this from happening, a special heat treatment is implemented on the components that make up the rotor for the purpose of stabilizing the components and reducing the amount of heat cracks during strenuous driving. This process has increased the life expectancy of the rotor by a considerable amount, granting one to use the rotor for extended periods without worry.
