We are able to take control of the size and placement of the openings and chambers and thereby regulate when the sound waves pass from the chambers. The particular timing of when the reflected sound waves unite with the primary exhaust movement creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that does away with certain problematic frequencies.

• If you have the AWE Touring Edition Exhaust, you can choose between the non-resonated or resonated editions. For BMW owners who still have a stock downpipe, AWE suggests opting for the non-resonated variant. If the car has been fitted with an aftermarket downpipe, the resonated one is recommended.
• If you have the stock downpipe but your goal is to switch to an aftermarket one later, don’t worry; it’s easy to replace it with the resonated midsection using the AWE Resonator Conversion Kit.
