Aragosta’s Type-E series of dampers are designed with both spirited street driving and comfortable cruising in mind. The Type-E includes several of high tech features of their Type-S and Type-SS high performance coilovers, including low-friction, WPC-treated inverted struts, height-adjustable Rana springs, specially formulated synthetic damper fluid and Aragosta’s unique low friction seals. Additionally, the Type-E features 12-step rebound adjustment knobs (not available for some vehicles) on the bottom of each damper, as well as pillowball upper mounts (camber adjustable mounts available for some applications).

The Ultimate in Smooth Performance

• The ultra-lightweight, high-pressure forged aluminum cylinder uses next-generation film treatment and Kashima coating. The special treatment of impregnating molybdenum realizes amazing lubricity of the cylinder itself. It is equipped with significant friction reduction and durability that cannot be compared with conventional hard alumite, and enables basic performance such as linearity, smoothness, and traction ability at a high level.

High-Precision Machining with the Highest Priority on Performance

• Aragosta are particular about the processing accuracy of the cylinder and are able to execute surface roughness of 0.2 micron and 2/10000 mm for both aluminum and steel cylinders. In addition, an advanced honing treatment is performed to increase the surface accuracy and roundness inside the cylinder to the specified values. It is extremely rare for a damper manufacturer to perform processing at this precision engine on all of their cylinders.

Superior Finishing Technology

• The steel cylinder / outer case is coated with cationic electrodeposition coating, which is considered to be the best in terms of rust prevention, impact resistance, and durability. It reliably electrodeposits to every corner of the thread for maximum coverage and increased lifespan. 

Equipped with High-Performance Spring as Standard

• All Aragostas are equipped as standard with Rana springs, which embodies the ideal of a series-wound spring. In addition to high quality and high durability, the linear characteristics contribute to maximizing the damper performance.

Sharpened Internal Structure

• Supporting Aragosta’s outstanding performance are damper pistons and needles that can control fine damping characteristics from extremely low speeds; covering a range from comfort to sports, dramatically improves traction performance. In addition, the external damping force adjustment mechanism gives a clear characteristic change to the 20-step adjustment range with a smooth and direct click feel, and corresponds to any setting.

High Hardness, High Efficiency WPC Processing

• The inverted cartridge cylinder uses precision shot peening (WPC processing), which is the best technology for modifying metal surfaces. In cartridge cylinders with high sway resistance, the wear coefficient has been reduced and the oil film retention in the sway part has been significantly improved. It is a manifestation of manufacturing that puts the highest priority on performance to spend time and money on parts that are not visible.

Aragosta 4 Cup Lift System

• This is an innovative system that makes it possible to avoid interference between the body and the road surface, which is a concern on very low vehicles. Speed bumps, entrances and exits of parking lots are no longer a concern. The Cup System raises the vehicle height in a short time with a single compact switch from the driver’s seat.
