The Aragosta Type–E series of dampers are created with two uses in mind: spirited street driving and comfortable cruising. It incorporates several of the advanced features from their Type–S and Type–SS high performance coilovers, such as low–friction, WPC–treated inverted struts, height–adjustable Rana springs, synthetic damper fluid, and low friction seals. The Type–E also features 12–step rebound adjustment knobs on the bottom of each damper, with camber adjustable pillowball upper mounts available for some applications (not available for all vehicles).

This ultra–lightweight, high–pressure cylinder made from forged aluminum boasts the latest film treatment and Kashima coating. Through impregnation of molybdenum, the cylinder exhibits remarkable lubricity. By comparison with conventional hard alumite, this special treatment offers decreased friction and increased durability while upholding the cylinder‘s linearity, smoothness, and traction ability at a superior level.
Aragosta prides itself on the extremely high level of accuracy in processing aluminum and steel cylinders, being able to achieve surface roughness of 0.2 microns and 2/10000 mm. They also employ an advanced honing technique to ensure the inner cylinder walls reach the desired roundness and accuracy. Such precision in processing is hardly ever seen among other damper manufacturers.
The steel cylinder / outer case is protected with a cationic electrodeposition coating, acknowledged to be the most reliable in terms of rust prevention, impact resistance, and longevity. Its electrodeposition extends to every corner of the thread for ultimate protection and extended life.
Rana springs are provided in all Aragostas as standard, making them the ideal series–wound spring. Not only are they of superior quality and long–lasting, they also feature linear characteristics that maximize the damper performance.
Aragosta‘s superior performance is facilitated by damper pistons and needles that allow for excellent damping characteristics to be adjusted from low speeds all the way up to sports mode, resulting in improved traction. Additionally, a 20–step external damping force adjustment mechanism provides a clear and distinct change with a smooth and responsive click feeling, corresponding to any setting.
The inverted cartridge cylinder utilizes the top–notch precision shot peening (WPC processing) to modify metal surfaces. It has successfully reduced the coefficient of wear and increased the oil film retention in the sway part, demonstrating the manufacturer’s commitment to optimizing performance even on parts that are not visible to the naked eye.
